New investment projects, international partnerships, tools for investors and exporters, and over 250 contacts with potential business partners are among the preliminary results of Moldova Business Week 2026. Held from 28 September to 2 October, the 11th edition brought together business representatives from at least 50 countries, strengthening the event’s role as Moldova’s leading national platform for promoting investment and export opportunities.
Organised by Invest Moldova Agency under a mandate from the Government of the Republic of Moldova, in cooperation with public institutions, 17 business associations and international partners, Moldova Business Week 2026 featured 35 events over five days.
This year’s edition recorded:
- Approximately 3,700 attendances across the programme’s events, representing at least 1,800 unique participants;
- Business representatives from over 50 countries across five continents: Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Africa;
- 35 events, including 11 study visits;
- Over 250 new contacts established by the Invest Moldova Agency team with potential investors and business partners;

This year’s programme was structured around three strategic pillars: European economic integration, sector-specific investment profiles and service exports.
“Moldova Business Week 2026 demonstrated what we can achieve when Moldova comes together. Public institutions, business associations and companies worked as one team to show our international partners that Moldova offers real opportunities for investment and trade. For me, this is perhaps the most important outcome of this edition: Moldova presented its economic offering with one voice. Now the follow-up work begins: turning as many of the contacts and discussions generated at MBW as possible into tangible partnerships, investments and trade relationships,” said Natalia Bejan, Director of the Invest Moldova Agency.
High-Level Participation and Reforms for a Competitive Business Environment
At the official opening, Vasile Tofan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, highlighted the country’s competitive advantages and the importance of accelerating economic reforms.
“We will never compete on the size of our domestic market, but we can compete on speed, agility and trust,” the Prime Minister emphasised.
The main priorities discussed included:
- Reducing bureaucracy and digitalising public services to simplify companies’ interactions with state institutions;
- Developing the capital market by creating new financing mechanisms for companies;
- Ensuring tax predictability and accelerating administrative procedures to strengthen investor confidence;
- Developing economic and energy infrastructure to enhance Moldova’s competitiveness;
- Integrating into the European market and making use of regional opportunities, including those associated with Ukraine’s reconstruction.

The 2026 edition highlighted major investment projects in the agri-food, pharmaceutical, energy, healthcare infrastructure, construction materials and advanced technology sectors.
The main investments and expansion plans announced included:

“An investor’s decision to enter a market or expand their operations depends not only on economic opportunities, but also on the country’s ability to provide the practical conditions needed to implement projects. At Moldova Business Week, we discussed both companies’ investment plans and practical solutions that can accelerate their implementation, from access to infrastructure and workforce to identifying local partners and facilitating dialogue with the authorities. Our role at the Invest Moldova Agency is to connect investors with the opportunities and resources available in the Republic of Moldova and help turn investment intentions into tangible projects that contribute to the economy and create new jobs,” said Mihai Burunciuc, Deputy Director of the Invest Moldova Agency.

Capital Market, Innovation and Digitalisation
Moldova Business Week 2026 marked the launch and advancement of key instruments for modernising the economy, facilitating access to finance and developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The opening of the admission process for brokers and issuers was announced as a preliminary step towards the launch of trading. An intention to increase the share capital from EUR 1.5 million to EUR 3 million was also expressed, inviting institutional investors and strategic partners to contribute to the development of the capital market.

Exports: New Tools and Opportunities to Access International Markets
Export promotion and the development of international trade relations were central priorities of the 2026 edition, with a focus on market diversification and the promotion of value-added products and services.
The main results included:
- The launch of Moldova’s exporter database – a publicly accessible tool bringing together over 400 exporting companies and facilitating direct connections with potential international buyers and distributors.
- Recognition of Moldova’s top 25 exporters – through the first edition of the “Top Exporters from Moldova” initiative. Over the next two years, these companies will be included in the Invest Moldova Agency’s activities to promote Moldova’s export offering internationally.
- Swiss Market Roadmap 2027. ANTRIM launched a roadmap dedicated to attracting tourists and investment from Switzerland, in the presence of a Swiss business delegation.
“The composition of our exports shows how much the Republic of Moldova has changed. In 2025, services already accounted for 46% of total exports. One in ten students in the country is an international student, while one in every eleven euros spent by foreign visitors goes towards medical services. Today, Moldova exports not only products, but increasingly expertise, technology, specialised services and its own brands. Our next challenge is to increase not only the volume of exports, but, above all, their value, and to strengthen Moldova’s position in international markets,” said Irina Tolstousov, Deputy Director of the Invest Moldova Agency.

Strategic Partnerships and International Economic Cooperation
Moldova Business Week 2026 facilitated the signing of new cooperation agreements and the initiation of international economic cooperation projects.
The main results included:
- Invest Moldova Agency – Enterprise Greece. The signing of a memorandum of cooperation to strengthen investment and trade relations between the Republic of Moldova and Greece. The partnership provides for closer institutional cooperation and lays the groundwork for organising an economic mission and a business forum in Athens.

The programme included visits to Monicol and Sapico, Ponti/Casmani, Premier Energy and Holcim Moldova in Rezina, as well as Ungheni Industrial Park and the Berești Multimodal Logistics Complex. These meetings complemented the forum discussions with practical examples of production capacity, infrastructure, and opportunities for investment and cooperation.
